Functional food product labels are written, printed, drawn, or photographed copies of words, drawings, or images that are pasted, printed, attached, molded, carved, or engraved directly on the goods or commercial packaging of functional food products .

Labeling of functional food products is to show the basic and necessary content of the product on the label of functional food products for consumers to recognize, as a basis for selection, consumption and use; to avoid consumers misunderstanding that functional food products are medicines, our government has issued many circulars and decrees regulating the labeling of goods, including regulations on labeling of functional food products. The latest is Decree 43/2017/ND-CP of the Government regulating the Labeling of Goods issued on April 14, 2017, effective from June 1, 2017, replacing Decree 89/2006/ND-CP dated August 30, 2006.
